The north part of Kefalonia
Get on your vehicle and head north, following the coastal road overlooking the magical waters of the Aegean. Admire the glorious landscape and feel the refreshing breeze caress your face and get ready for an amazing time in Kefalonia. On your way to the north part of the island, have a stop at Myrtos beach, one of the most famous beaches in Greece.
Let’s take a closer look.
First stop: Myrtos beach
Myrtos beach is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece and has won numerous awards for the quality of the waters and its incredible scenery. On top of the Assos peninsula, you‘ll notice a castle perched on the hill. The castle was built by the Venetians to protect the whole Island of Kefalonia from pirates. Be sure that you put on some comfy shoes and start walking the hill and witness the remains of the castle while taking in the lush vegetation of the area. Don’t forget to capture gorgeous photos of the peninsula and of course the castle which will transport you in ancient times.
