How to get to Athens International Airport from Athens city center by bus?

There are 4 bus lines that serve the Athens International Airport, but the X95 is the most suitable if you want to get directly to the airport from the city center (Syntagma). It takes you in about an hour to the airport and the full ticket costs €6.00. The other three bus lines are the following:

  • Χ93: Kifissos KTEL Station – Airport
  • Χ96: Piraeus – Airport
  • Χ97: Eliniko Metro Station – Airport

The buses run 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All buses set down passengers at the departures gate and depart from the arrivals gate, between exits 4 and 5. You can get the bus tickets at the info/ticket-kiosk, located outside the Arrivals level.

How to get to Athens International Airport from Athens city center by metro?

Take Metro line 3 (blue), which connects the Athens airport with the city center. Trains run every 30 minutes, 7 days a week from 06:30 to 23:30, and the trip duration is about 40 minutes. To get to the Metro station, you should cross the road outside the airport, walk towards the escalators which will get you up to the pedestrian bridge. Transport ticket offices are located at the end of the bridge and both suburban railway and metro platforms are one level down.

How to get to Athens International Airport from Athens city center by suburban railway

The Suburban railway connects the Athens airport with the Piraeus port via the Athens Central Railway Station (Larissa Station). The train departs from the Central Railway Station on every hour at :03 from 5:03 am to 21:03. There is also a train that departs from the Larissa Station at 04:30 towards the airport.

Insiders' Tip

From Doukissis Plakentias station, you can take the suburban railway train that departs every 15-25 minutes, and get to the airport. To get to this station, just take the metro line 3 (blue) from the city center.

Getting to Athens International Airport on a taxi

The last way to get to Athens airport from Athens center is on a taxi. You can find a taxi at the designated taxi waiting area located between exit 2 and exit 3 at the arrivals gate. The taxi fare is fixed at the rate of €38 from 05:00 to 24:00, and at the rate of €50 from 24:00 to 05:00, while the taxi ride is about 25 minutes.
