There are 4 bus lines that serve the Athens International Airport, but the X95 is the most suitable if you want to get directly to the Athens airport from the city center (Syntagma). It takes you in about an hour to the airport and the full ticket costs €6.00,. The other three bus lines for Athens airport transportation are the following:

  • Χ93: Kifissos KTEL Station – Airport
  • Χ96: Piraeus – Airport
  • Χ97: Eliniko Metro Station – Airport

The buses run 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All buses set down passengers at the departures gate and depart from the arrivals gate, between exits 4 and 5. You can get the bus tickets at the info/ticket-kiosk, located outside the Arrivals level.

Metro is the easy way to get to Athens International airport where you can help you avoid city traffic during rush hours. Take Metro line 3 (blue) for Athens airport transportation from the city center. Trains run every 30 minutes, 7 days a week from 06:30 to 23:30, and the trip duration is about 40 minutes. To get to the Metro station, you should cross the road outside the airport, walk towards the escalators which will get you up to the pedestrian bridge. Transport ticket offices are located at the end of the bridge and both suburban railway and metro platforms are one level down.

How to get to Athens Airport from Athens city center by suburban railway?

The Suburban railway connects the Athens airport with the Piraeus port via the Athens Central Railway Station (Larissa Station). The train departs from the Central Railway Station every hour at 03 from 5:03 am to 21:03. There is also a train that departs from the Larissa Station at 04:30 towards the airport.

Insider’s tip: From Doukissis Plakentias station, you can take the suburban railway train that departs every 15-25 minutes, and get to the airport. To get to this station, just take the metro line 3 (blue) from the city center.
