About Crete

Crete is the largest Greek island located at the very south of the Aegean Sea – in fact, this is the southernmost point of Greece. What makes her so unique is its terrain which varies from rocky mountains to sandy beaches.

Crete

Its capital and largest city is Heraklion, a city that holds centuries old history and culture and is at the same time the center of vibrant nightlife. Being the 5th largest island in the Mediterranean, Crete has to offer various gorgeous destinations for summer holiday such as Chania, Elounda, Agios Nikolaos and Rethymno. All of them are waiting for you to explore them and see why this island is on the list of ‘’must visit’’ destinations in Greece!

Things to do

When imagining vacation on an island the first thing that pops up on our mind is sipping Mai Tai on a hammock under a palm tree shade. Planning of activities to do in summer destinations such as Crete doesn’t usually go further than exploring different beaches every day. However, Crete has so much more to offer! Glimpse of the rich history at interesting archaeological sites in Malia, Knossos and Phaistos. Along with impressive Byzantine castles of Heraklion, Chania and Rethymno.
