Many visitors of the Acropolis try to "steal" a stone to take home, so the groundskeepers bring in marble pebbles by the truckload every morning before opening and spreading them around.

During the construction of the Metro, over 50,000 unexpected archaeological artifacts were found. Today, six metro stations display some of these finds.
