The fastest way to get to Santorini from Athens is by airplane. The trip duration is about 45 minutes. The primary airlines for the Athens-Santorini route are RyanAir, EasyJet, Aegean Airlines, Olympic Air, Sky Express. There are also additional airlines that connect Santorini directly to main European cities from April to November. In order to get on the plane to go to Santorini, you should get to Athens International Airport.

How to get to Santorini International Airport from your hotel?

Santorini’s airport is very accessible since it is located only 6 km from Fira, the capital of the island, but it can be very busy especially in high season.

How to get to Santorini International Airport by bus? 

Using the shuttle bus service, you need about 15 minutes to reach the airport. There are 15 bus journeys departing from Thira main station at 06:10, 06:40, 07:20, 10:10, 11:10, 12:10, 13:10, 14:10, 16:40, 17:10, 18:10, 19:10, 20:10, 21:10 and 22:25.

From the Santorini Airport, the buses depart at 05:30, 06:30, 07:10, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:30, 17:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00, 21:00 and 22:15. 

Bus stop is located between the arrivals and departures buildings. Tickets cost €1.80 per way and can be issued from inside the bus. 

How to get to Santorini International Airport on a taxi? 

You can reach the airport on a taxi (grey in Santorini). Taxis waiting areas are located outside the arrival hall of the airport. In general, taxi drivers don’t use a taximeter, the taxi fares are fixed but there may be extra fees depending on the additional suitcases. In any case, you shouldn’t be charged more than €15.00. Keep in mind that the taxis at the airport serve on a first come, first serve basis.
